Waste in itself is an environmental problem that continues to increase as populations grow, which in all cases costs municipalities and waste management companies money to get rid of. The usual option is through landfill, which is not a satisfactory solution.

Our solutions and technologies allow communities to enhance sustainability level by turning waste streams into reusable and valuable resources.

WHAT IS BIOSPHERE TECHNOLOGY?

  • This is a gasification process that harnesses the combustibility of solid wastes to create a heat source that produces an extremely hot steam that will then generate green electricity.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BIOSPHERE?

  • Creates electricity by destroying waste in a cost effective manner without polluting the environment.
  • The process is done in a limited – oxygen environment thereby significantly limiting atmospheric emissions.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF BIOSPHERE TO THE ENVIROMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH?

  • Addresses both energy production and waste management issues
  • No toxic leftovers that require landfill or which cause leachate issues
  • Groundwater and methane avoidance credits from displacing landfills
  • Eligible as Renewable Energy Developer as Renewable Energy Market (REM)

WHAT IS THE BIOSPHERE'S ZERO WASTE PHILOSOPHY?

  • Addresses operates on a ZERO WASTE philosophy, defined as: The recycling of all materials back into nature or the marketplace in a manner that protects human health and the environment.
  • The conversation of any carbon – based material is in excess of 97%. Non – carbon based materials are converted into vitrified glass. Molten metal’s are separated from glass and recovered.
  • Non – carbon based feedstock materials are converted into saleable products without any leftover. There is virtually no need for a landfill with this process.
  • Eligible as Renewable Energy Developer as Renewable Energy Market (REM)

WHAT ARE THE BY - PRODUCTS OF BIOSPHERE GASIFICATION?

  • Pozzolanic Ash – Several commercial uses, such as road base, and material for making concrete blocks.
  • High Alloy Steel Wire – Typically contains titanium or vanadium.
  • Carbon Black – This is important filler in the rubber industry next to titanium dioxide. Also the most important pigment in printing inks, toners, single – ply roofing, paints, and plastics.
  • Electricity – 6 megawatts of electricity/hour which is enough to generate enough power to supply 60,000 households annually.

DOES THE BIOSPHERE TECHNOLOGY COMPLY WITH THE CLEAN AIR ACT?

  • Yes, because the air emissions from gasification are well within prescribed limit by the law.
